The Human Fossil Record:
A Digital Resource for Research and Education

Specimens in this collection comprise human remains that derive from archaeological excavations of St. Gregory’s Priory (~1200-1537) and researchers should consult St. Gergory’s Priory, Northgate, Canterbury Excavations 1988-1991 (Martin and Alison Hicks, 2001, Canterbury Archaeological Trust) for more information (available for purchase from Oxbow Books). Specimens in this collection are curated by the Skeletal Biology Research Centre at the University of Kent, Canterbury, UK.

Ethics and terms of use: the copyright of the original microCT scans and all associated digital derivatives is held by the Skeletal Biology Research Centre (SBRC) and the University of Kent are made available here under an Attribution-Non-Commercial 4.0 (CC BY-NC 4.0) license. Use of any digital data is restricted to research and educational purposes and should follow the British Association for Biological Anthropology and Osteoarchaeology (BABAO) code of ethics which can be found here: https://www.babao.org.uk/publications/ethics-and-standards/. Users that wish to request copies of the microCT data and/or surface models should complete this form and email it to Prof. Matthew Skinner (matthew_skinner@eva.mpg.de). Upon acceptance by the SBRC the scans/surfaces will be transferred to the user through an online portal.
